These tool batteries fit Milwaukee cordless tools of the same voltage, except for MX FUEL batteries which fit MX FUEL tools and equipment. Battery series with the same voltage are interchangeable. For example, an M18 tool that uses REDLITHIUM batteries can use any series M18 REDLITHIUM battery (CP, XC, or HD). CP series batteries are lighter than XC and HD series batteries, so they’re used with drills, nailers, and when working overhead. XC series batteries have more power than CP series batteries and are used for circular saws and other high-draw tools. High-demand (HD) series batteries are used with heavy-demand tools such as chain saws and table saws. High-output versions of Milwaukee batteries have more power, run cooler, and are smaller and lighter than standard versions. Batteries of the same voltage and series may be available in different amp-hour (Ah) ratings. Batteries with higher Ah ratings have greater power storage capacity but are heavier than those with lower Ah ratings.
These tool batteries fit any series of DEWALT cordless tools with the same voltage. For example, a 20V MAX* battery or a 20/60V FLEXVOLT battery will work with 20V MAX*, MAX* XR, and Atomic series tools. MAX XR* batteries are premium batteries with more capacity than standard MAX* batteries. 20/60V FLEXVOLT batteries automatically switch voltage to match the power of the tool they are paired with. They provide extended run time for 20V tools and ample power for 60V tools. The battery capacity listed for FLEXVOLT batteries is the amp-hour (Ah) rating when operating at 20V. This capacity is reduced when operating at 60V. Tool batteries of the same voltage and series may be available in different Ah ratings. Batteries with higher Ah ratings have greater power storage capacity but are heavier than those with lower Ah ratings.
